Starting up with Freelancing

Hey guys.
I'm back with a new tutorial.

Most of you suffer in starting up with Freelancing and doubt how to start in it. So here is the tutorial.

First of all, what is freelancing?

Freelancing is a self-employed job not necessarily committed to a particular employer for a long term and the people working for it are freelancers.
In other words, we can say that freelancing is like work from home. The employers hire you to do work, pay you for works and as soon as the project is completed, you're free.

Now the question arises "what are the skills for a freelancer?"

In order to be a freelancer, you must have at least one of the skills mentioned below: 👇👇
  • Graphics designing
  • Web designing and development (front end)
  • Content writing
  • Photography and videography
  • Video editing / photo editing
  • Digital marketing
  • Animator
  • Translation and languages
  • Android app Development

Let's talk about all of them in brief.

1. Graphics designing: in freelancing, the employer hier you to design logo, poster, banner, etc. Of theri company. For this you really need a high skills of Adobe illustrator, Adobe InDesign. If you're a beginner, you can learn this within a month if you try to.

2. Web designing and development: In this, the employer hier you to design their website (front end) and they pay you for this. You must have skills of at least HTML, Java script, css and PHP to design a website. This is not so simple but you're paid a good money for it. If you're new to it, you may learn it in 30-45 days.

3. Content writing: Most of the companies hier a person to see on their blog and write contents on it. Let's take an example to understand better. This is my blog. I'm writing this myself but if we see companies, they don't have time to post content on their blog. So they hier a freelancer to do this for them. This is not a difficult task. You just need to be good at English for this.

4. Photography and videography: If you are good photography or videography, you can do this as a freelancer. But being good is not enough for them. You won't be paid as much as you deserve. In order to get paid accordingly, you must have an Instagram pages of your photos clicked and a YouTube channel for your videos. When they are hiring you, they will ask for your projects. So you can show them your Instagram page and YouTube channel in order to get a good payment.

5. Videos and photos editing: the employer hier you to get paid for designing intro videos, editing videos and photos for their company / business. You must have a good Photoshop as well as video editing skills to get paid for it.

6. Digital marketing: The employer hier you to get their business online with digital marketing. They'll ask you to get their business on Facebook, Instagram and other social networking sites. You'll be paid for that. For this, you must have a good knowledge of Digital marketing.
If you're unaware of it, you can learn it at Microsoft garage. To redirect to Microsoft garage page, click here

7. Animator: The employer hier you to create some 2D / 3D animation designs and will pay you for that. This is something like making cartoons. For this, you require a knowledge of Macromedia flash and PowerPoint.

8. Translation and languages: The employer hier you to translate a book, PDF or something similar form one language to another. Let's take an example to understand better. Let, we've a book published in Hindi and we want to sell the copy of book in English language. We can't do this ourselves as it requires time. We'll hier someone who have a good knowledge of both the languages to translate it and will pay the employee for it.

9. Android app development: According to my thinking, this is the toughest of all for beginners. You need to Design an Android app which is not so simple. You require a high knowledge of java or kotlin or some other programming languages as well as UI/UX interface. It takes too much time to learn these and design an Android app.

Now proceeding to how can we get a freelancing job from these, I've made a list of top 6 freelancing websites:

NOTE:  Many pople complaint that they started working as freelancer, they submit the project then also they don't get paid. To overcome this problem, you can send pictures of your projects or show your project to the employer over a video call and send them the actual complete project only after getting paid.
